Movement Problem
« on: July 13, 2012, 03:17:03 PM »
Hello,

we are working since may with the kilobots, but still have problems with the accurate movement of them. we use a mirror as surface how recommended. still the kilobots don't move accurate at all. for example if you want them to turn left, they just vibrate in place. or if you want them to move forward, they first do this and after a short amount of time the movement begins to change, they either move in an other direction or start to jerk.

does anyone have a suggestion how to solve these problems?

hello,

the best solution is to calibrate the motors of the Kilobot. As the condition of use are not the same as the factory, a calibration will fix this problem.

Please look at the procedure in the user manual (4.3.6).

Best regards

Hello,

please verify that the pins are not bent before calibrating the motor.

If it is the case, you must redo the calibration until you have a correct behavior.

Sometimes, in production, we must calibrated the motors two or three times before reaching a correct behavior. And as soon as you bend the pins, this behavior can change.
