Calibration fail
« on: December 13, 2012, 03:47:13 PM »
Hi,
We are trying to calibrate the motors, following the guide book, and we came across a strange failure.
After downloading the Kilobot_motor_cal.hex file to the robot and flashing the OHC_motor_cal.hex file to the OHC. we switch to the “Motor calibration” sub-menu and try pressing the buttons but the software appears to be using the normal button layout, meaning hitting "More CW" shows "start bootload". hitting "More CCW" shows "sleep" and so on.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello,

It seems that you have not correctly reflash the OHC. Once you have load the new file (OHC_Motor_cal.hex) with the select alternative controller file, you have to press the Program Flash button once more.
Please verify in the pop-up windows if the programming was successfull.

Best regards

Hi,

I have flashed the alternative controller file.
We are working according to the instructions manual.
While reflashing, pop-up window comes and goes normally.

How can i tell if the bot's are in calibration mode? is there a LED color to indicate?
I want to make sure that this is an issue with the software.

Thank you.

Hello,

normally, when the Kilobot is in Motor calibration mode, you must hear the noise of the motor (one of them is driven slowly) and the led didn't blink at all. Once the Kilobot programming, the best way is to reset it (unplug the jumper at least 3-4 second).
